It seems there is nothing Lily Cole can’t do. In addition to establishing herself as one of the most successful models in the world, Lily finds time to study art history at England’s Cambridge University (one of the most prominent colleges on the planet), juggle a career as an emerging movie star, and act as an ambassador for several charities. How does she do it? A chance encounter began Lily’s modeling career when she was scouted, at age 14, while having a hamburger with friends in Soho, London. Lily was named “Model of the Year” at the British Fashion Awards in November 2004, an honor she was nominated for again in 2007.
Lily’s acting career launched in 2007. To date, she has had parts in several high-profile movies with a range of world-famous actors. Her first full-length feature was “St. Trinian’s” with Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, and Stephen Fry. In 2008, Lily acted in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassu,” costarring Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and the late Heath Ledger. She also appeared in “Rage,” a movie about the fashion industry, alongside Jude Law and Judi Dench. At the age of 17, Lily turned her back on an expensive contract with De Beers, the diamond-mining firm, over human-rights issues. Lily also appeared on The Sunday Times’s “Rich List” in 2008, ranked as the 77th-wealthiest young person in Britain.
The girl really is unstoppable!
